The Traveling Soup Kitchen
About Us

Our
Story
Hi, our team consists of Agalya Rajkumar, Isabella Cardillo and Sadana Subramanian. We are a group of high school students at Freehold Boro High School. As students who frequent the restaurants in downtown Freehold, we see a handful of homeless people wandering the streets. We are currently in a global hunger crisis as the number of undernourished people has increased by 163 million to 735 million, the majority of them being homeless. We wanted to do something to help and tackle this issue one place at a time. So, we developed our organization, “The Traveling Kitchen.”
Our Mission
Give what you want, take what you need
We want to be able to provide food to people in high density homeless areas who may not be able to afford to buy food or to travel to a soup kitchen. We operate on a give what you can, take what you need system. This allows our participants to donate what they can for the food they need. We also accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions, with trucks specifically designed for allergen and dietary restrictions.
